Tai Diss Track (with Isaac)

With the fast and creative mind of Uchral and the quirkiness, yet popular personality of Issac, we are able to create the song Tai Diss Track (with Isaac). This song focuses on the “bad side” of Tai and how those negatives can eventually lead to his downfall. Isaac and I decided to take the hip-hop/rap approach to this diss track because of how influential it is to both of us. We also decided to use the GO (made by Juice WRLD and Kid Lorai) instrumental to make fun of Tai for looking like Kid Lorai who made that song. During the production of my lyrics, I wanted the song to feel like hype and have slow moments so I was mainly inspired by 21 Savage and Juice WRLD. These two artists understand flow, timing, and execution. Chicago and Atlantic styles of rap have basically changed the whole game during the years so making a song based on those genres makes me feel proud.

My production is a good parody because it has a purpose. I did not make a song to flex what I have and lie about my future. I made a song with the intention of bullying Tai as a joke. I included important elements such as allowing the listeners to go straight into the song instead of listening to the beat for 30 seconds. This would create hype. I would make Isaac’s lyrics help slow down the song and let the listeners calm down. It is a rollercoaster of emotion. I also added echo’s to some parts of the song to make it more interesting. I decided to not use autotune compared to my classmates because I am not like that.

I am mostly proud of including Isaac to make the song with me. Isaac is a special person and having him in my song to diss Tai makes me feels proudful. I LOVE editing and mixing audio such as vocals, music, SFXs, etc. in my songs. I also love going into the studio to make my productions more professional. Basically, I enjoy making songs and with the help of Pro Tools and my personal app Logic Pro X, I will continue to make more of my own songs. Compared to visual/video editing from my other classes, I do enjoy those experiences, but I do not have the same level of excitement to produce songs. Thank you for reading my artist statement and I am happy to be able to experience this. Many people have listened to my song (even my whole Film class) and I am happy that they enjoy the song and tell me to become an actual rapper. Thank you.
